Explore
Jordan's unique venues for special events and experience
some fascinating possibilities for theme parties. Only a
few of them are listed here:
The
Hijaz Railway
Just over
100 years old, this railway station offers you an
exclusively chartered old steam engine train ride that
transports visitors to an exciting trip in the desert.
Some of the fun possibilities throughout this trip
includes musicians on board to entertain guests, robbers
on horseback to attack the train and capture "hostages",
a Bedouin tent along the roadbed for a Lawrence of
Arabia coffee break, a catered lunch on the platform of
the Jiza station, and more.
The Hijaz
Railway was built by the Ottomans to run from Damascus
(in Syria) to Mecca (in Saudi Arabia). It was
constructed in 1900, but was never completed because of
attacks by robbers, and by Lawrence of Arabia and his
men. Although a great part of the railway was destroyed
at the time, much of the line has been rebuilt and runs
throughout Jordan.
Dinners at
the Citadel in Amman
Enjoy a
special evening atop one of Amman's hills at the
Citadel, in the shadow of the 2nd century Temple of
Hercules. Attend a reception or dinner at the 8th
century Umayyad Palace with waiters dressed in costumes
from that period. Or, enjoy an evening under a Bedouin
tent with traditional Middle Eastern food and
entertainment.
An Evening
in Little Petra
Nothing
can top a visit to the splendours of Petra except a
continuation of the excitement and mystery of Little
Petra with its own 1500-foot "Siq" entrance, with
rock-cut chambers. Colourful carpets line a large
candle-lit tent. Gifted musicians play during dinner
followed by a light show and dancers. It is a
magnificent finale to one of the most impressive visits
to Jordan.
A Dead Sea
Barbecue
Stay
afloat in the buoyancy of the Dead Sea at an exclusive
beach. Then, enjoy a Middle Eastern barbecue served
under a tent with comfortable seating on cushions and
low tables. Immerse yourself in the tranquillity of the
moment. What more delightful way to spend half a day at
only an hour's drive from Amman.
Dine in
the Crusader Castle of Karak
Descend
deep into the 12th century Karak Castle to the vaulted
underground Great Hall for a memorable meal. Candles
dance, musicians perform, and you can visualize life
during Crusader days.
Back into
Roman History in Jarash
Join a
quest for hidden treasures that leads you through the
splendid ruins and historical paths of this ancient
Roman city. You will be divided into teams with a map
that guides you throughout the treasure hunt. After the
treasure is
found and coffee served, you can play Roman style team
games and have lunch in this spectacular setting.
An Evening
at Kan Zaman Village
This
century-old village of Kan Zaman is today a charming
complex of shops and a handicraft centre, cafes and a
large restaurant located in what originally were huge,
high-ceiling stables. The shops sell everything from
spices to antiques, and you can watch the artisans
practice their trades in many of them. Local music
provides the background for a delicious home-style
dinner.
1001
Arabian Nights Dinner
This theme
dinner is organized in one of the deluxe hotels in
Amman. A Bedouin tent, rich decor and waiters in costume
provide the ambiance of a Sultan's palace. Seating is
Oriental style at low tables. Live musical
entertainment, a folklore troupe, and belly dancers
enhance a magical evening. |
